Classic Car Export is pleased to announce the expansion into import and export services for several major shipping lanes.  These lanes are scheduled to be available for booking on December 1st, 2011, to coincide with the opening of our Brazilian services.  Classic Car Export expects to offer container service for both importing and exporting through US ports to Jebel Ali, Rotterdam, Le Havre, Genoa, Bremerhaven, Paranagua, Santos, Tilbury, Durban and Melbourne.  DAP, DAT and Ex Works are available at all ports.

Classic Car Export Announces the Opening of Brazil Office

Classic Car Export is excited to announce the opening of our import office in Paranaguá, Brazil.  This office will consign both solo and consolidated shipping of classic and muscle cars, as well as offer DAP services to Santos and Sao Paulo.  The official opening date for the office is December 1st, 2011.

“This is an important landmark for the shipping community,” said Joe Weinrich, president of Classic Car Export.  “Lane stability has been problematic with Brazilian classic and muscle car shipments in the past, and our experienced staff in Paranaguá specializes in smooth, trouble-free importation.”

Through this office, Classic Car Export will offer both solo and consolidated consignment of automotive freight, standardized port procedures and fees as well as DAP to select warehouses in Santos and Sao Paulo.  The port/consignment services will be offered to forwarders on a wholesale contract basis, while Classic Car Export will also offer these services to shippers at retail rates.  Classic Car Export will begin pre-booking shipments to Paranaguá on November 7th.

With the US economy going down and many other countries moving up, international auto sales is a hot market that many Ebay sellers are missing out on. Right now, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, England, France, UAE and other countries have buyers looking for American cars- and are willing to pay top dollar for them…
The problem for many Ebay sellers is inexperience- the uncertainty of how an international transaction is completed as well as the obvious communication issues that can arise make many sellers refuse to sell overseas. But international sales are not that hard to do at all- and with the US dollar down and many foreign currencies strong against it, the money is very good, too!

If you have an American classic or muscle car to sell on Ebay, offer the auction overseas for the best opportunity to sell your car at the price you want. Below are some simple steps and standard procedures in an international sale that will make the transaction as simple as possible.

‎1. Complete the sale off of Ebay. Otherwise you’re fees from Ebay will be rather high.‎

2. Do not sell a car to someone asking you to move or front money for them.

‎3. When a price is agreed upon (in $USD) have the buyer wire transfer the money to your account. Most international banks require a SWIFT code for this, and it is for your protection. Your local bank branch manager will have all of the security info you need for a safe wire transfer. If you plan to sell more than one car, you can open a second account just for this purpose. Pay Pal is not recommended for international purchases.

That is a sign of a scam.

4. A bill of sale and a title will be needed in most cases. If you are selling a car that does not require a title (or was built before they existed) a letter from your Motor Vehicle Department to that affect will be needed in place of a title.

5. Request a photo ID from you overseas customer. A scan of their passport emailed to you works best, but any other legal photo ID issued in their country will work. This is needed not only for the export customs, but also for your security- a ‘scammer’ will not send you this document.

Armed with this and a good transport/export company (like Classic Car Transport) to make the transfer go smoothly, you can squeeze even more money out of your Ebay auction through international selling.
